REPORT PRINTING
The reports printed in this operation provide valuable information
about the status of your accounts receivable and other important
information to aid in the financial and patient management of your
practice.
To use this operation, either press 4 or use the arrow keys to
highlight Report Printing and press the [Enter] key.
Reports available in the Report Printing operation are as follows:
Transaction Entries lists billing transactions.
Patient Ledger lists all billing transactions and notes entered for a
patient, both current and history. This report groups detail by
patient and gives patient account balances much like a ledger card in
a manual bookkeeping system.
Patient Receivable Aging categorizes patient balances by age. With
this report you know exactly what patients have a past due balance and
how old that balance is. Prints in a format which allows its use as a
collection worksheet.
Insurance Aging Report prints an aging of insurance billing amounts
by patient, grouped by insurance carrier.
Day Sheet comes in three parts; procedures grouped by patient for the
day, procedure summary for the day and receipt summary for use in
verifying your bank deposit.
Practice Analysis analyzes procedures for a month or any other desired
time period, even annually. Suitable for submitting to your accountant
for preparation of financial statements. Has the capability for profit
analysis on procedures.
Patient Referral Report tracks patient referral sources. Reports on
revenue generated for patients from each referral source.
Unbilled Entries Report prints unbilled entries by patient, grouped
by insurance carrier.
Each of these reports are explained in detail on the following pages.

Patients with Charges Past: Enter 30, 60 or 90 to include only those
patients who have a 30, 60 or 90 day balance or older.
It is important to note that since MediSoft Advanced works like a
balance forward type of accounting system, the aging report is
dependent upon the timely execution of operation 8-1, Month-end
Processing. When properly run, the archive operation removes the
detail transactions for a patient and places these transactions in a
history file while storing the balance of those transactions as a
balance forward. The aging report will not age properly if the
Month-end Processing operation is not run at the close of each billing
cycle, usually once per month.
.PA
>PRVGROUP
Group Patients by Provider: Enter "Y" if you want to print a report
sorting the patients by the Head of Household's assigned provider
number. A new page is started for each provider. Otherwise, enter

O P T I O N I N F O R M A T I O N
This option allows you to print an aging report of entries billed to
insurance companies. You must use the same document number on
insurance payments as you did on the entries that they pay for this
report to operate correctly. Otherwise, the program will not know if a
given entry has been paid or not.

Date of Report: Enter the date of the report. This date is used in

each claim. Enter a date in MMDDYY format or press [Enter] for

Aging Column 1, 2, 3, 4: Enter the range of days old you wish to use
for each column of the insurance aging report. You may press [Enter]
to use the standard aging, as shown below.
Aging 1: 0-30 Aging 2: 31-60 Aging 3: 61-90 Aging 4: 91-999
"Range of days old" means the difference, in days, between the date of
the aging report and the transaction bill date. The first standard
range, 0-30, means todays entries to 30 days in the past. The second
range, 31-60, means 31 to 60 days in the past. The third range means
61 to 90 days in the past. The fourth range means 91 to 999 days in
the past.
.CO Aging Column
The reason we use 999 days in the past is so that transactions billed
a large number of days in the past (with reference to the date of the
report) will still appear on the report.
Note: Transactions are aged from the date of the insurance billing
rather than the date of the charge. This is done so that the aging is
based on the last time the transactions were billed to insurance, not
the initial date of entry.
.PA

Range of Insurance Carriers: Enter a beginning and ending carrier
number separated by a dash to limit the report to certain carriers or
press [Enter] to include all carriers.
.PA

billed charges. All payments, adjustments and unbilled entries are
excluded when you specify an Insurance Billed Past.
Note: Transactions are aged from the date of the insurance billing
rather than the date of the charge. This is done so that the aging is
based on the last time the transactions were billed to insurance, not
the initial date of entry.

printing tomorrow's entries. The counter is reset when the report
finishes printing. Aborting the report printing will also reset the
counter.

on today's entries you may specify a range of entries which only
includes today's entry numbers or you may specify a range of dates
which only includes today's entries.
